Finborough Road

LMH in partnership with LCC and with funding from the ‘Homes and Communities agency’, continue to move forward in our two ‘empty homes’ programmes. Both the clusters and the City wide empty homes projects aim to bring long term vacant properties back into use. These projects not only provide homes for families, it removes blight and anti-social behaviour from our streets and neighbourhoods. This Finborough road property has been empty for years and sits within one of our residential estates. While lying derelict it had been used as a meeting point for youths, a dumping ground for rubbish and has attracted vermin.

One neighbour who lives near the property said &lquo; This property is a disgrace, it makes the road look terrible; there has been youths hanging around the property late at night, all the fly tipping to the front, side and rear gardens has attracted vermin&rquo;. LMH were the successful bidders when the property went to auction in London. The development team then priced and scheduled the property to have a full refurbishment, ready for a new family to move into.

The works were contracted to HMS and they took an amazing 7 weeks to complete the transformation. The property received new interior walls, floors, re wire, roof, external render insulation system and the high standard LMH kitchen and bathroom. The site staff who were carrying out the refurbishment works stated ‘we removed 8 skips of rubbish from the front and rear gardens of this property, what a sight that was!’

These refurbishment works (now completed) have totally transformed the property from a derelict shell to a modern, thermally efficient property. The interior has the benefit of high specification bathroom and kitchen fittings that have been used throughout our housing stock. Liverpool Mutual Homes
